Stop Calling It "Scent Leaves", See The Correct Name

Many people don't know that the leaf we use to call "scent leaves" on a daily basis has its correct name. If you asked 100% of Nigerians today, they will tell you that its correct name is "scent leaves". I won't blame anybody because we are used to referring to it as " scent leaves".

Even me I am not perfect and I am not Mr. "Know all", I used to call it scent leaves until the day I come across its other name which I will tell you in this post.

But before that, let us know why we should stop calling it " scent leaves".

What is "scent"? According to the English dictionary, it is a distinctive smell, especially one that is pleasant.

What is "leaf"? According to the Longman dictionary, it is one of the flat green parts of a plant that are joined to its stem or branches.

Now, in summary, " scent leaves" are one of the flat green parts of a plant that had a distinctive and pleasant smell. No, don't refer to it this way. It is a tropical plant species scientifically known as "Ocimum Gratissimum" in the family Labiatae.

For you to be unique and presentable, the correct name is "clove basil" and the botanical name is "Ocimum Gratissimum".
